Long-term care homes are facing a crisis. Personal support workers (PSWs), responsible for the daily hands-on care for long-term care residents, are overworked, underpaid, and unequipped to deal with the challenges of their profession.
A new report released by the Ontario Health Coalition, commissioned by Unifor, details the harsh reality PSWs face and highlights how the huge shortage of PSWs has affected all Ontarians. A cross-province tour of the new report, which can be found here, is almost underway. Please find the list of press conferences across the province below. While space for the press conferences are limited, please read the report and let your local politicians know they need to act now to fix the crisis. We will send out updates on upcoming events weekly. You can always see our upcoming events on our calendar on our website. Thank you!
