December 6 is National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

On December 6 1989, a gunman entered Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal.  Shouting “You’re all a bunch of feminists! I hate feminists!”, he killed 14 women students.

By leading the conversation on violence against women and providing the assistance for those affected by abuse, we break the silence and actively participate in eliminating gender-based violence.

The Women in Solidarity Committee of the NRLC will be hosting a buffet breakfast on Thursday December 6, 2018.
Breakfast will be served from 7:00 am to 7:45 am and the event will be held at the Club Capri, 36 Cleveland Street, Thorold.

Along with door prizes and raffles, there will be a presentation on the St. Catharines Shoebox Project by Debbie Feor-Swartz.

We are asking that you bring a donation to the Shoebox Project along with you. See the project's page for suggestions what goes in:

Tickets for this event can be purchased through the Niagara Regional Labour Council through email or call or text, NRLC President Lou Ann Binning.
