Major rallies planned!
A half a billion dollars per year – that is what’s at stake in the sale of Hydro One. As Ontario’s Financial Accountability Officer Stephen LeClair has reported, the provincial Liberal government’s sale of our public utility will cost the province $500 million per year in lost revenue. This is revenue that our schools, hospitals, and transit systems need desperately. Add to this the loss of public oversight, increased costs to hydro users, and potential restrictions on shaping policies to reduce energy use and fight climate change, and the case for rejecting the sale remains strong.
Next week, Keep Hydro Public and Hydro Not for Sale are planning a number of rallies in Toronto to call on the government to reverse course. Please join us at one or more of these events and help us spread the word:
  • Monday, December 7th, 4 pm - 5:15 pm, Queen’s Park
  • Tuesday, December 8th, 4 pm - 5:15 pm, King Street West and York Street
  • Wednesday, December 9th, 4 pm - 5:15 pm, Queen Street East and Lee Avenue
Let’s step up the fight to Keep Hydro Public!
